Despite having lived here for nearly a year, but this was the first time I’d explored this part of the city. I found it rather run down, with rows of boarded up buildings, grotty looking businesses with names in the format [Name]’s [Company type], and not a friendly/happy face to be seen.

But all this just made me think that what I should do is take my camera with me more often. I went to Glastonbury this weekend, with camera almost constantly in my hand taking pictures, and that’s how it should be! For my next project, I’m intending to employ a gonzo^w-like style, not meaning that I’ll be in the pictures (necessarily), just that they’ll be more in-the-action, and less framed, etc. This is somewhat inspired by Zoldan King.

I’m sorry for making you look at this terrible picture. It was taken with my new phone, a Nokia 6300 - which has an adequate camera for a phone, but still. Been busy lately anyway, so I’m not sure there would have been much more content here even if my bike wasn’t gone…

You’re looking at the frame I used to chain my motorcycle to. Sometime Tuesday morning, thieves used a circular saw to cut through it, then (one presumes) lifted the bike wholesale to be taken away (for parts? it would be spotted on the road by police). So… some of the projects for taking photos further afield are on indefinite hold.
